Here at McDade Roberts we have an agricultural specialism with many rural clients so we are used to getting our wellies out to deal with mud. We don’t always jump in and cover ourselves in it however, but 11 of our staff did just that at the recent Total Warrior event at the beginning of August at Shap, in the Lake District.
11 McDade Roberts staff, along with their family and friends took part – Martin Garry, Amber Wilson, Becky Curwen, Tabatha Gingell, Conor Bowers, Julie Wignall , Steve Wignall, Gareth Ellison, Katie Grayston, Ben Lofthouse & Kai Trenbath.
There were 30 intense obstacles over 10K including ice baths, being electrocuted, jumping over fire and lots and lots of mud!!
The fastest time was Conor and Kai in 2 hours 21, followed by Katie, Julie, Steve & Gareth in 3hrs 6, and finally Martin, Ben, Amber, Tabatha & Becky in 3hrs 51.
In business, as in mud, we all need to have something to look forward to and upon completion the team were all rewarded with a well-deserved beer. It took 2 baths and a shower to clean the team and there were rumours in the office that some people were finding mud in bizarre places days later…
Tabatha commented: “There are talks of signing up again next year. Some of my colleagues obviously have very short memories of the pain and the mud, but a lot of fun was had by all”.
McDade Roberts have a history of challenging themselves with physical events and Total Warrior was a great team building activity with everyone helping each other over and under obstacles and keeping each other going right to the end.
