It is the staff that make McDade Roberts what it is. A friendly and approachable accountancy practice. Today we interviewed Chris Carter to find out what makes him tick. Read on to find out more about a rare Morecambe football supporter who hasn't touched his pet for 5 years….

Name: Chris Carter

Where living:  Lancaster

Job position: Accounts Manager

Based at which office:  Longridge

Where have you worked before? Moore & Smalley, Scott & Wilkinson

Qualifications: ACCA, AAT

Any job specialisms: Don't think so! I enjoy helping sole director run businesses and the tax planning side of things in terms of extraction of company funds.

Funniest or most embarrassing work moment: Probably not really work related but at one of our Christmas do's at S&W all the partners had prepaid cards for getting drinks for staff on the tab. I managed to get hold of one of the cards and bought lots of rounds of shot at a secret bar on the dancefloor which the partners had no idea about! They thought nobody was asking for any drinks all night!

Pets: Actually have a pet snake which I (regrettably) bought when I was 11. I haven't held it since it bit me about 5 years ago!

Proudest moment: Has to be completing my ACCA qualification, years of hard work finally paid off!

What you wanted to be when you were 8 years old: Professional footballer…

Hobbies/Interests: Playing cricket, badminton, golf, football. Love going to music concerts, especially post COVID.

Talents: I like to think I'm okay at most sports (jack of all trades but master of none!)

Favourites:

Football team - Morecambe

Film - Hard to choose, top 3 I would say would be Step Brothers, White Chicks & Inception (which I still can't get my head around)

Song - Changes from week to week… all time classic would be Livin' on a Prayer – Bon Jovi

Food - Have to be steak – cooked medium (open to criticism!)

Who would play your part in a movie? Would have to be someone who always ends up getting hurt as I seem to be very injury prone! Potentially Adam Sandler.

If you could be an animal for the day, what would it be? An eagle – just to be able to fly and have a bird's eye view of everything would be amazing.

If you won the lottery tomorrow, what would you do? Sounds really boring but probably invest in lots of rental properties, but I'd have to also splash out on a fancy car of course. I would love a BMW i8 or another electric / hybrid supercar.
